Maynard Wayne Shetler born October 2, 1922, died October 15, 2002. He was married Alice B. Crecraft, born November 08, 1921, died March 16, 2013 and their child is Larry R. Shetler who is married to Kathleen and their children – Christian, Keith and Rachael.

Maynard was a “Smoke Jumper” and the book above tells a story of a young man and his brother, Marlyn.  Although conscientious objectors during WWII, were willing to do what they could to help their country as Smoke Jumpers.
